Chris once told his parents that he didn’t want a camera because he didn’t think he would use it. Too bad his mom already bought him one, for graduating middle school. That was awkward. He took it, and used it. High School and University came and went and if he had a darkroom (remember those?), he shot, if not, he didn’t. Then wife, dog, job, house.

Enter, the digital SLR! In the beginning it was just fun, then became reality. This is the point in the story where he sells everything and piles his wife, pooch, and camera in a small SUV and drive 3500 miles to Atlanta to study commercial photography from the best at Portfolio Center! Two years later, book in hand, he piled his wife, pooch, and a few new cameras back into the small SUV and returned to the Rose City.

Now Chris loves his work, life, and Portland more than ever. He shoots all things portrait, but also likes things that don’t move. His work includes musicians, athletes, models, friends, and people of all types. Color, humor and story drive Chris’ work. All he wants is for the viewer to connect.
